Lieutenant Robert Tempesta is a dedicated and accomplished law enforcement professional with over two decades of experience, beginning his career with the New York City Police Department in the aftermath of 9/11. He relocated to Lady Lake with his family where he continued his service with the Lady Lake Police Department since 2004, steadily advancing through the ranks due to his unwavering commitment to public safety and organizational excellence.

Lieutenant Tempesta combines extensive operational expertise with a strong academic foundation. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College (SC) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from SUNY Old Westbury. His dedication to continuous professional development is reflected in his graduation from the prestigious Southern Police Institute’s 72nd Command Officer’s Development Course at the University of Louisville, as well as his participation in the 17th session of the Florida Executive Development Seminar (FEDS).

Previously serving as Chief of Police for the Town of Lady Lake, Lieutenant Tempesta led the department with integrity, focusing on community engagement, professional standards, and modern policing strategies. His leadership philosophy emphasizes transparency, accountability, and fostering a culture of excellence within law enforcement. He is the Accreditation Manager and has kept the police department in compliance with industry standards and best practices.
