Deputy Chief Brough’s commitment to law enforcement began in high school when he joined the Sheriff’s Explorer Program, and it has been the foundation of his career ever since. He launched his law enforcement journey with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, where he gained invaluable experience serving as a dispatcher, patrol deputy, community policing deputy, and fugitive investigator. After a decade of service there, Deputy Chief Brough transitioned to the City of Brooksville Police Department, where he spent another 10 years overseeing patrol operations, dispatch, and property/evidence as a Lieutenant.
In 2013, Deputy Chief Brough brought his expertise to the Lady Lake Police Department, initially serving as a Lieutenant before advancing to Captain, where he oversaw both patrol and dispatch operations. In 2019, he was appointed Deputy Chief, a role in which he continues to lead with dedication and integrity.
Deputy Chief Brough holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Technology from Pasco-Hernando State College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Hodges University, and a Graduate Certificate in Criminology from the University of Virginia. He is also a proud graduate of the 248th Session of the FBI National Academy and he recently received the 2024 Chief’s Award for Outstanding Service. With a passion for serving his community, Deputy Chief Brough is honored to serve the citizens of Lady Lake.
