Lost dogs
If you find a lost pet, follow these steps to try to reunite it with its owner.
- Immediately report lost pets to Lake County via online form.
- Post the pet on local lost and found pets Facebook pages, community pages such as NextDoor.com, and on FindingRover.com and PawBoost.com.
- Take the pet to a local vet, pet store or humane society to scan for a microchip.
- If you are unable to reunite the pet with its owner, make an appointment to take the pet to the Lake County Animal Shelter at 12280 CR 448, Tavares.
Community Cats
It is against Lady Lake’s ordinance to feed stray cats.
- Operation Community Caturday is a Lake County program that sterilizes and vaccinates feral neighborhood cats through a trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) program. It’s easy, and it helps decrease the feral cat population. Call 352-343-9688 or visit Community Caturday for more information.
Emergencies
If you encounter a dangerous dog, call 911.
