Speaker Procedures

How may I provide input at meetings?

  • If you wish to address the Town Commission on any item on the agenda or comment about something not on the agenda, you must fill out a Speaker Card and turn it in to the Town Clerk prior to the agenda item coming up. Speakers will be limited to three minutes. Persons interested in speaking on an item not on the agenda may be heard during the Public Comments period. Citizen groups are asked to name one spokesperson to represent their group. Upon being recognized, please approach the podium, state your name and address, and speak clearly into the microphone.

  • The order of agenda items may be changed if deemed appropriate by the Commission or Board.

  • Please be respectful of others and silence your electronic devices.

  • Failure to maintain meeting decorum will result in expulsion from the meeting. This includes slanderous remarks, and boisterous and unruly behavior.

  • Signs being displayed must be of a size that can be easily held by one person and not be mounted to posts, poles, or other devices or extensions, including windows, walls, or any part of a building or structure.

Note: The Public Records Law of the Florida Statutes provides that any records made or received by any public agency in the course of its official business are available for inspection, unless specifically exempted by the Florida Legislature.
