Requirements

A separate fire permit is required to repair, install, modify, or remove any fire protection.

Projects Requiring Fire Permits

The following projects will require separate fire permits:

  • Fire alarm
  • Fire sprinkler
  • Fire Communicator
  • Hood Protection
  • Dry Chemical/ Clean Air Suppression
  • Paint Booth Suppression
  • Fire Pump
  • Life Safety Generator
  • Underground fire protection.
  • Gas installation (propane or natural)
  • Fireworks/ Sprinklers
  • Fuel tank installation.
  • Fire pump.
  • Water supply tank.
  • Controlled burn 

Submittal Requirements

Though submittal requirements may change based on the scope of work, the following list will assist in your permit being issued in the most time effective manner:

  • Detailed construction plans signed and sealed by an engineer or architect using the most current building codes. All documents shall be properly signed, dated and sealed for the required method of submittal.
  • Floor plan.
  • Cut sheets of all the material and equipment used.
  • Battery or hydraulic calculations.
  • A recorded Notice of Commencement will be required prior to the first inspection for any projects with a job value over $5,000.
