Inspections
Reroofs performed by a licensed contractor have two options for roofing inspections procedures.
The first option is for a final inspection only which includes a completed and notarized roofing affidavit and photographs including the permit number or address in each picture. The photographs must show the underlayment installed for each plane of the roof, deck nailing, and spacing (including a measuring device or ruler), roof deck nails used, drip edge and valley attachment, and shingles installed.
The second option will include two separate inspections. This is also the option that should be used if any of the decking is replaced.
- A Dry-In /In-Progress Inspection will include completed drip edge and felt and valleys. No more than 50% shingles may be installed at the time of this inspection.
- Final Roofing Inspection.
Reroofs performed by a homeowner builder require the following inspections.
- A plywood nailing inspection (for site-built homes constructed before 2002)
- A dry-in/flashing inspection
- Roof final.
